age-friendly cycling. is a research initiative inspired by the Age Friendly City concept and cycling studies. It aims to create a combined approach to address urban mobility and population ageing. The mobility of the future needs to be clean and in tune with city life, but also enjoyable for people of all ages.
ENTOURAGE is an academic project that applies these prospects in three European tourist cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona and Venice. It combines critical scholarship about tourism geographies, mobilities research and urban ageing studies. It actively consults the viewpoints of older adult collectives and involved policy-makers in the domain of active urban mobility. The project started in 2021 at the Rovira i Virgili University in Vilaseca, Spain. It is embedded in the Department of Geography and the research group Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET).
